Back in March, when social distancing orders began to come into effect, an idea came to me.

I couldn’t stop thinking about the role that music, art, creative expressions can play in holding this world together at a time like this.

I started calling up a number of friends — some but definitely not all of the very talented people in my life.

I told them together, we should make a brand new album inspired by this unusual time. Distance might bar us from reaching each other physically, but we can still create meaningful connections together via the strength of music and, of course, the power of the internet.

I am here to announce that 9-track album, titled DISTANCED CONNECTIONS, releases on May 8th. The songs are produced by me and are written by and feature artists Liz Wilson, Jason Sill, Ariel Alexis, Martin Ascher, Daniel Palese, Michael Nishimura, Meryl Williams, KHAJE, Font Leroy and Konrad Ben. It’s by far the biggest and most meaningful project with the widest range of styles I’ve ever worked on.

I’m so proud of all the wonderful music we were all able to create together.

JUNE UPDATE: This album is now available on Bandcamp, with 5 instrumental tracks and one special bonus track available for download. All proceeds will go to The Bail Project & The Brooklyn Community Bail Fund. Black lives matter.
